Message of Fifth Sunday of Easter – 05/03/2026

To the point of the Gospel from the Fifth Sunday of Easter: Jesus’ words in this gospel from the Last Supper discourse are reassuring ones: “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” Yet Thomas and Philip, who hear Jesus also tell them that he is leaving, are not reassured and question him anxiously. The leap from the Jesus at the Last Supper to the Jesus after the resurrection is one giant step, one the disciples have not yet taken. But we have taken this leap. We are an Easter people. We have received the Holy Spirit who empowers us to know Jesus, through him to know the Father, and to do the works of Jesus. Believing this mitigates all troubles, all anxiety.  Being troubled and anxious is a fact of our stress-filled lives.  “Do not be troubled” the surgeon says to someone before major surgery; “Do not be troubled” a parent says to a child wakened by a nightmare; “Do not be troubled”…the only way we can truly not be troubled when we trust in the resurrected Christ.

  1. Faith Formation of the year 2025-2026 is ending on Sunday May 3rd.  Thank you to all catechists and volunteers.  Parents and children please remember do not take vacation from God.  Come to mass and strengthen your faith through the parish activities.
  2. Pre-Registration for 2026-2027 Faith Formation.  Please read the information of Faith Formation.
  3. Our parish will celebrate with Bishop Michael coming to confer our teen of their sacraments of confirmation on Sunday May 17 at 1PM Mass.
  4. Consecration to the Eucharistic Glory scheduled at 5PM on Sunday May 17 with Holy Hour, consecration, and social gathering.

Mensaje del Quinto Domingo de Pascua – 05/03/2026

Volviendo al tema del Evangelio del Quinto Domingo de Pascua : las palabras de Jesús en este evangelio, en el discurso de la Última Cena, son reconfortantes: «No se turbe vuestro corazón». Sin embargo, Tomás y Felipe, que también oyen a Jesús decirles que se va, no se tranquilizan y le preguntan con ansiedad. El salto del Jesús de la Última Cena al Jesús después de la resurrección es un paso de gigante, uno que los discípulos aún no han dado. Pero nosotros sí lo hemos dado. Somos un pueblo de Pascua. Hemos recibido el Espíritu Santo, que nos capacita para conocer a Jesús, a través de él para conocer al Padre y para hacer las obras de Jesús. Creer esto alivia todas las preocupaciones, toda la ansiedad. Sentirse preocupado y ansioso es una realidad en nuestras vidas llenas de estrés. «No te preocupes», le dice el cirujano a alguien antes de una cirugía mayor; «No te preocupes», le dice un padre a un niño que se despierta por una pesadilla; «No te preocupes»… la única manera de no preocuparnos de verdad es cuando confiamos en Cristo resucitado.

  1. La formación en la fe del ciclo 2025-2026 finaliza el domingo 3 de mayo. Gracias a todos los catequistas y voluntarios. Padres e hijos, recuerden no alejarse nunca de Dios. Asistan a misa y fortalezcan su fe a través de las actividades parroquiales.
  2. Preinscripción para la Formación en la Fe 2026-2027. Lea la información sobre la Formación en la Fe.
  3. Nuestra parroquia celebrará la visita del obispo Michael, quien conferirá a nuestro adolescente el sacramento de la confirmación el domingo 17 de mayo durante la misa de la 1 PM.
  4. La consagración a la gloria eucarística está programada para las 17:00 horas del domingo 17 de mayo e incluirá la Hora Santa, la consagración y un encuentro social.
